PEANUT BUTTER CARAMEL

Peanut Butter Caramel

Prep Time 2 mins
Total Time 10 mins
Servings 16.5 oz

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 pinch of sea salt
  • 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter

Instructions

  • Add the butter, both sugars, heavy cream and salt to a medim sauce pan. Heat the sauce pan over a medium heat until the butter is fully melted. Use a whisk to stir the mixture periodically, ensuring that all of the ingredients are well combined.
  • Add the peanut butter, continuing to whisk the caramel mixture, and bring to a low simmer. Once the peanut butter has been fully incorporated remove the sauce pan from the heat and allow to cool slightly before serving. If using later, store the peanut butter caramel in an airtight container and place in the refrigerator.

Notes

  1. Should the caramel seem grainy after being refrigerated for a period of time simply place the caramel in a medium sauce pan and heat over a low/medium heat before use. If the caramel continues to be grainy add more heavy cream 1/2 tbsp at a.time and whisk until fully incorporated.
